BEAUTY CULT #4 : The Wishlist Edition

I'm kicking off a week of all things wishlists here on TGG with a special (festive!) edition of BEAUTY CULT. Instead of recommending a product which they currently love/recommend, today's contributors are giving us details on the luxe treats which feature high on their Christmas lists this year. Take notes (you too Santa).

Becky The top of my Christmas beauty wishlist is the Bumble & Bumble Super Rich Conditioner. I know it doesn’t seem like the most glamorous or exciting product for a must-have, but at £20.50 for 250ml it’s certainly a luxury! I had used the Bumble & Bumble surf spray (discovered through That Grace Girl!) and was so impressed that I explored what else they had on offer. I was totally spoiled for choice! With such a huge range of products, I had to ask for advice on what would be best for my long, dry and dyed hair that was in serious need of some TLC, and I ended up with a tester of the Super Rich Conditioner. It proved to be a miracle worker – it’s simple, not flashy (with practically no scent) - but extremely effective. My hair looked shiny and felt silky and soft, a miracle for anyone that knows how hard it is to get dyed hair looking healthy!

Alex I have an on-going wish list (who doesn’t?) i.e. as soon as one item is checked off; it is replaced with two more!  As autumn ensues, this list increases ten-fold.  This year I’m after a classic red lipstick for the festive season…enter Chanel Palpitante from the Rouge Allure collection.  As an avid reader of Elle Decoration, I have recently discovered nest.co.uk, an online store who stock some amazing Scandinavian brands.  I have resisted the Hay Kaleido Trays for long enough, so a couple of the pale pastel colours have made the lust list this year, in the hope of that perfect dressing table.  Christmas would be incomplete without a new candle and this season’s offerings from Bella Freud are to die for; Ginsberg is God smells divine!

Courtney I recently had a hair dye mishap (which I chalk up to improper colour names and package swatches) that has left my hair looking Little Mermaid-scarlet. The past few weeks of baking soda leave in treatments and repeat scrubs with Bleach London's Washing Out Liquid have left my hair unbelievably dry and squeaky. In trying (and dyeing) times like these, I am thankful for the It's a 10 Miracle Leave In Product -- sadly, I am nearing the end of my sample bottle (thank you to the lovely people at Ulta) so a full-sized bottle of this dream hair product would be a real treat. A solid backup present would be a stocking chock full of the Sally Beauty Colorful Neutral Protein Filler, which is colour correction life support for your hair.

Jen Top of my Christmas wish list this year is a bottle of Diptyque Eau Duelle; my most loved signature scent. My current bottle is almost coming to an end and I feel like my fragrance wardrobe would be a little lost without it. An oriental-spicy scent from the French perfumer, its base of Bourbon Vanilla is complimented by top and middle notes of Bergamot, Pink Pepper, Musk, Cardamom, and more. A grown up take on Vanilla, it's both feminine and sophisticated at the same time and for any other vanilla lovers I defy you not to fall a little in love with this scent.

Liz At the very top of my beauty wish list this year is Sarah Chapman Overnight Facial Oil and Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Oil. I ran out of the Overnight Facial Oil about 2 months ago and I have really really missed it and so has my skin.  I find adding a pump of the Sarah Chapman facial oil and a few drops of Kiehls is the perfect combo and guarantees super soft skin the next morning. So, if you are looking for a new product to cult this Christmas, consider one (or both!) of these and you will be thanking Santa (or me) all through 2015.

Lilly Writing a wishlist for Christmas isn’t an easy feat, and so you can imagine just how hard I found it to pick merely one item for this post. Having previously proclaimed my undying love for Byredo’s Gypsy Water, I am ashamed to say I still haven’t managed to try the Gypsy Water Roll-On Oil yet. But what a perfect Christmas gift it would be! Small enough to fit in any clutch or handbag, yet packing enough punch to battle any winter blues with its fresh aroma. And while we’re talking about Byredo - I am also partial to the Gingembre Candle. I mean, who doesn’t like the sound of ginger, black pepper, vanilla and amber all mingled in one beautiful amber stained glass?!

Charlotte Everyone's Christmas wishlist should include a touch of luxury, and no gift is more luxurious than perfume. It's a far more practical gift than some people would think too - especially if, like me, you enjoy wearing perfume on a day to day basis. I'm a fan of subtle, feminine scents rather than sharper stronger ones, mostly because I like scents that are flexible enough to wear on every occasion - glamorous and, er, not so glamorous (even a trip to Sainsbury's benefits from perfume!). I've got my eye on a couple of bottles which I'm hoping might find their way under the Christmas tree. One of these being Burberry's My Burberry; a classic, elegant scent which claims to "capture the essence of a London garden after the rain." In my eyes, it's set to become an iconic scent - timeless just like the Burberry trench coat.

Bridie I’m firmly on the fence when it comes to beauty gifts at Christmas. Purchasing cosmetics on such a regular basis means I don’t lust for too much but having said that it’s highly unlikely I would turn down a Tom Ford Trousseau gift set or anything of that nature. This year topping my list is a syringe of Volbella! Now, I know what you’re thinking, between Lauren Goodger and Tulisa lip plumping has a lot to answer for; but in the words of Oscar Wilde "Everything in moderation, including moderation.”. Hopefully it goes without saying that any body augmentation needs to be thoroughly researched and considered before making any final decisions. But you may be reassured by the fact the injections are reversible should the results be anything less than perfect. It won’t be for everyone and it’s more than likely a sure-fire indicator that the 'Scouse Bird’ way of life has finally caught up with me; but hey, it’s Christmas and I’d love a Hailey Baldwin pout please, Santa!

Kate I can never (ever) get enough of Byredo. I'm a addict, dedicated to the soul purpose of owning everything in the La Tulipe fragrance line, as fast as humanly possible. Their new festive candles are also screaming out to me (hai, Safran) but I feel even I'm getting to realise the ridiculous nature of my own burning-hot-wax habit. In short, if it's La Tulipe. It has my heart.

Rebecca The Laura Mercier Body & Bath Luxe Quartet - Almond Coconut Milk is at the top of my wish list this year after receiving it last year, you know a gift really is amazing when you want it two years in a row. This year it contains a shimmer body mist which is perfect for the festive season as who doesn’t want to sparkle a little bit? The products are so luxe and beautiful that this would make an amazing gift for any beauty lover in your life and they have an array of scents to pick from if almond and coconut isn’t your thing but who doesn’t want to smell like a Bounty bar?!

Camey Ahh, the Christmas wishlist. More often than not, this really just turns into my Christmas “Treat Yo’self” list – a list of things I end up buying in “one for me, one for you” holiday fashion. Oops. At the top of the list this year is a fancy new eyeshadow palette – something gorgeous, luxe, and entirely impractical for someone who a.) never wears eyeshadow and b.) still doesn’t really know how to apply it properly. But I can’t resist the allure of a beautiful palette and ever since Charlotte Tilbury finally launched in the U.S., I’ve been daydreaming about her Luxury Palettes in Dolce Vita and Golden Goddess. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about these eyeshadow quads and keep waffling about the one I want. Add Tom Ford's Cognac Sable Palette and the Bobbi Brown limited edition Warm Glow Eye Palette to the mix and this really might just turn into a proper wishlist after all.

What's top of your wishlist this year?
