August Beauty Picks | 2014
The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Body Butter Okay, I know it's still technically summer but I've already cracked out the body butter. It's a new launch, and it involves argan oil, so you can forgive me, right? Thick, creamy, and smooth...as far as the texture goes you know the drill, and this launch fails to disappoint. Its scent is subtle and non-offensive - rich, warm and luxurious, reminding me of the aromas accompanying holidays to very VERY hot places. Providing intense and long-lasting moisturisation, I can already see this becoming an autumn/winter staple.
Anna Sui Eye Colour Palette* (currently half price on Escentual) Say hello to my eyeshadow palette of the summer. I'm not one for pops of colour when it comes to my lids so these warm but subtle shades have been going down a treat in my morning makeup applications. I love metallics - anything copper, gold, or bronze is an automatic winner - and within this swoon-worthy packaging are six such shades, along with a black (to up the smokiness come evening), white (An A+++ inner eye brightener) and two soft and shimmery pinks (for days when I really feel like rocking the boat). The formula presents the perfect balance between a rich pigment and a light consistency - meaning you won't have huge chunks of glitter falling off with every blink but will still get a really strong wash of colour. Long-lasting, easy to blend... in short the perfect palette.
Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat With it's unique patented formula, just one coat of this cult favourite penetrates through all previous layers of nail polish, combining them to create a single, strong layer. Easy to apply (and remove), non-streaky and with a high-gloss effect which doesn't dull within a few days of use. Expect a salon-worthy manicure which lasts.
Clinique Chubby Stick Lip Balm in Woppin' Watermelon If you're a 'makeup on the go' kinda gal and haven't yet tried the Clinique Chubby Sticks then I sincerely urge you to do so. These light, silky smooth balms are intensely moisturising, and apply sheer but become more pigmented post-application. One of the few lip products I trust myself to apply without a mirror, every handbag should contain one.
Eve Lom Daily Protection SPF 50* Hands down winner of the 'do-it-all' product award. This SPF also serves as a day cream with all of the benefits of your usual moisturiser - brightening your complexion, increasing firmness and moisture absorption, and eliminating impurities with the inclusion of lactic acid. Of course its sunscreen capabilities are A* and provide the highest possible rating of UV protection as well as a layer of antioxidants to protect against free radicals. It's also free from parabens and synthetics. Need I say more?
