July Beauty Picks | 2014

Processed with VSCOcam with hb1 preset Happy half-birthday to me! Six months until 22 already has me quaking in my boots sandals (it is summer after all!), and I can't believe we're over halfway through 2014 already. July was a reminder of the summers of my childhood - long hot weekends spent reading in the sun, breakfast al fresco, and enough ice lollies to make a multicoloured iceberg. In short - not a disappointing month weather-wise so I have high hopes for you August! Beauty-wise I've had no particular concerns/obsessions/needs so its a really a bit of a mix...

L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Mascara I have no idea how or why this hasn't cropped up in a favourites post before seeing that this has been my go-to mascara for the past six years and definitely the most long-standing product in my makeup collection. Length, volume, last, this mascara ticks all of the boxes, and has never left me wanting. Think the false lash effect without looking false. L'Oreal Telescopic's volumising big sister... In short, it's everything that Benefit They're Real said it would be but wasn't. And more. The closest product I've found to this is Chanel's Le Volume Mascara, so if you're after a dupe for that then voila!

L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Mist One of few staples in my haircare routine, I treat this less of a hair treatment and more of a hair perfume (although it most certainly excels at both). I apply a little pre-blow dry and then top up on my dry hair if I'm heading out. As well as smelling like summer (seriously), it leaves my hair smooth, light, and super shiny. Enriched with lotus flower extract which prevents hair loss, promotes growth, and strengthens and moisturises hair, the product leaves absolutely no residue, stiffness or stickiness.

Sarah Chapman Skinesis Ultimate Cleanse* A do it all cleanser if ever there was one. This thick cream takes on a lighter, oily texture upon application, leaving skin feeling luxuriously soft, plump, and clean. An indulgent treat for sensitive, irritated, and dry skin, but suitable for all skin types, I've been using this AM and PM to remove all traces of even the clingiest makeup.

Chanel Rouge Allure Intense Long-Wear Lip Colour in 119 Captivante This gorgeous brown-toned copper-red has been my go-to lip colour since it leapt into my shopping basket a few weeks ago (I have no idea how that happened...). I love to rock a red-lip in the daytime but if I'm at work and unable to constantly top it up then I prefer something more subdued which will look a little less obvious as it wears off. With a long-lasting formula and a muted colour which is subtle but still pigmented after one application, yet easily built up to a bolder colour, it's safe to say that Chanel, you did it again.

Byredo Bullion Eau de Parfum Roll-On Oil in Bullion* Byredo's Roll-On Oils are your one-stop answer to travel friendly scent. Light, portable, and oh so elegant, who wouldn't want one of these chic glass vials in their handbag?? With a long-lasting, alcohol-free formula perfect for sensitive skin, and a roller-ball applicator which allows for quick, precision application on pulse points, Bullion has notes of musk, plum, and pink pepper. It has definite Chanel No5 vibes, albeit sweeter and softer - rich, opulent, and warm, it is perfect for summer evenings. I've been reaching for Bullion on an all too frequent basis this month...
