If you're a regular of the skincare blogs, you'll no doubt have read many a review on this cult mask, and for that reason I'll keep this review short and sweet. I've mentioned the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask in a few Skincare Diary/Sunday Stuff posts, and a few readers have requested a more detailed review, so here you go...

I find Antipodes' description of this product slightly misleading in some ways, as I wouldn't say this is the mask I'd go to for a deep cleanse or during a nasty breakout. Not to say that this mask isn't amazing, because it is. Where this mask excels is in providing a hydrating, nourishing product that also cleanses and soothes blemishes, but doesn't place your skin under too much stress during the process. It's very balanced in that you won't be left with that nasty tight, dry feeling, but you also won't suffer from any unwanted oiliness or blemishes.

This mask is packed with moisturising ingredients such as glycerin and avocado, and of course manuka honey, known for it's anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It applies with a creamy texture, more like a moisturiser than your average face mask. It isn't at all visible, and doesn't dry or harden whatsoever. If you suffer from dry or sensitive skin or are a little wary of clay masks then this is definitely worth checking out.

I usually use this mask once a week, or when my skin feels like it needs an extra injection of moisture. I like to apply a generous layer, leave it to sink in for a few minutes, and then massage my face with the Body Shop Facial Massager. I leave it on for 30-60 minutes before rinsing off with a warm muslin cloth. My skin is left feeling instantly hydrated, and really soft and plump. I don't find that this mask does much for preventing or treating spots, but it certainly soothes any existing blemishes I have and just leaves my skin looking and feeling calmer and more soothed in general.
