SKINCARE DIARY #10
MONDAY
MORNING : AESOP Parsley Seed Facial Cleanser*, SUQQU Musculate Mask & Massage Cream*, AESOP B & Tea Balancing Toner*, & OTHER STORIES Cashmere Day Cream*.
AFTERNOON : SOAP & GLORY Sunshield Superfluid SPF50+*.
EVENING : DEAD SEA SPA MAGIK Black Mud Soap, RADICAL Exfoliating Pads*, CODAGE Spring Break Serum*, RADICAL Eye Revive Cream*, EVE LOM Brightening Cream*, EVE LOM Dynaspot Blemish Treatment*.
My biggest skincare obsession right now is facial massage. I will literally take any chance I have to squeeze a dedicated massage into my routine - usually in the evening, but if I have the luxury of not having to leave the house in a rush/at all, then the SUQQU Gankin Massage is ideal for mornings. It's an excellent way to prep the skin for makeup, but I prefer it on makeup-free days as the massage cream also serves as a moisture mask which can be left on for a while. I remove it with a cotton pad soaked in toner - at the moment this Aesop one is my favourite. It's very delicate and soothing and also works as an antiseptic so is great if you have blemish-prone skin. I'm currently testing some pieces from & Other Stories' skincare range, and I'm smitten with this day cream. It's a great follow-up to the toner as it's so softening [and smells incredible].
TUESDAY
MORNING : AESOP Parsley Seed Facial Cleanser*, VICHY Aqualia Thermal Serum*, RADICAL Skin Perfecting Screen*.
EVENING : GARNIER Micellar Cleansing Water, EVE LOM Cleanser*, RADICAL Exfoliating Pads*, CODAGE Spring Break Serum*, RADICAL Eye Revive Cream*, EVE LOM Brightening Cream*.
I usually find day creams/serums a bit uninspiring, but this Vichy one is truly something special. It's like an injection of moisture to the skin - really lightweight and fluid, my skin drinks it up instantly and looks all the more better for it. A must-buy if you're struggling to treat a dehydrated complexion. My evening skincare routine remains pretty consistent throughout the week - it's the only way to really see the effects, so I usually pick a serum to combat whatever skincare concerns I'm suffering with and use it until the bottle runs dry. This Codage one is incredible, a bona fide antidote to skin troubled with blemish marks.
WEDNESDAY
MORNING : AESOP Parsley Seed Facial Cleanser, SUQQU Musculate Mask & Massage Cream*, AESOP B & Tea Balancing Toner*, & OTHER STORIES Cashmere Day Cream.
AFTERNOON : SOAP & GLORY Sunshield Superfluid SPF50+.
EVENING : THE BODY SHOP Vitamin C Facial Cleansing Polish, EVE LOM Rescue Mask*, RADICAL Instant Revitalising Mask*, LA ROCHE-POSAY Serozinc, CLARINS Skin Beauty Repair Concentrate*, RADICAL Eye Revive Cream, SOAP & GLORY Beauty Sleep Accelerator*.
Since I started running I've been trialling a number of SPFs - I always run barefaced and am super conscious of the effects of UVA and UVB rays upon scarring [prolonged exposure really impacts the healing process]. At the moment I'm using Soap & Glory's offering, which has to be one of the best so far. It's a very thin liquid so absorbs instantly and doesn't leave the complexion with a chalky cast as many thicker SPF creams do. Wednesday sees my mid-week skincare boost - these two masks are up there in my top five and together they're an absolute dream team [especially when it comes to healing scarring]. I always prep for my masks with a physical exfoliant and follow them up with some serious hydration. The Soap & Glory Sleep Accelerator is EXACTLY like the Origins Drinkup Intensive Mask - it even smells the same [peaches, mangos, apricots, SUMMER], and leaves my skin feeling so soft come morning.
THURSDAY
MORNING : AESOP Parsley Seed Facial Cleanser, VICHY Aqualia Thermal Serum, RADICAL Skin Perfecting Screen.
AFTERNOON : GARNIER Micellar Cleansing Water, EVE LOM Cleanser.
EVENING : DEAD SEA SPA MAGIK Black Mud Soap, RADICAL Exfoliating Pads, CODAGE Spring Break Serum, RADICAL Eye Revive Cream, EVE LOM Brightening Cream, EVE LOM Dynaspot Blemish Treatment*.
As you can see I'm really loving Eve Lom's skincare offerings right now. The cleanser is incredible, going above and beyond any other I've used - it deeply cleanses, brightens, treats, exfoliates, and remove every last trace of makeup missed by my initial micellar water cleanse. I like to spend a good 3-5 minutes massaging it in before leaving it on for another 5-10 minutes. Nothing else leaves my skin feeling so smooth and soft. The Eve Lom spot treatment [Dynaspot] is also incredible, I apply it to any blemishes I can feel coming up before I go to bed and by morning they'll have completely disappeared.
FRIDAY
MORNING : AESOP Parsley Seed Facial Cleanser, VICHY Aqualia Thermal Serum, RADICAL Skin Perfecting Screen.
AFTERNOON : GARNIER Micellar Cleansing Water, EVE LOM Cleanser, SOAP & GLORY Sunshield Superfluid SPF50+.
EVENING : THE BODY SHOP Vitamin C Facial Cleansing Polish, ANTIPODES Aura Manuka Honey Mask, RADICAL Eye Revive Cream, EVE LOM Brightening Cream, EVE LOM Dynaspot Blemish Treatment.
I've been using the Radical Skin Perfecting Screen on and off for almost a year now - it's a lovely skincare/makeup hybrid which provides a smooth, matte base for makeup and also contains a high SPF count. The Vichy serum sinks in so quickly that I can apply it almost immediately after before moving onto my concealer and foundation. If I'm home then I'll always treat my skin to a mask of a Friday evening. This Antipodes one is super gentle so there are no scary consequences if I leave it on for longer than recommended. If you read my April Beauty Bites post then you'll be aware that [yet] another Eve Lom product I'm 100% obsessed with is the Brightening Cream. It's made SUCH a difference to my blemish marks and has massively helped my dehydrated skin. When I layer it on really thick my skin literally glows when I wake up.
SATURDAY
MORNING : AESOP Parsley Seed Facial Cleanser, VICHY Aqualia Thermal Serum, RADICAL Skin Perfecting Screen.
EVENING : GARNIER Micellar Cleansing Water, EVE LOM Cleanser, RADICAL Exfoliating Pads, CODAGE Spring Break Serum, RADICAL Eye Revive Cream, EVE LOM Brightening Cream, EVE LOM Dynaspot Blemish Treatment.
A late night but no matter what the time I never neglect my skincare routine - the thought of going to bed with makeup on makes me feel a bit ill. I dedicated an entire post to the Radical Exfoliating Pads last week because I'm that obsessed with them; another product which has had a huge impact on the speed at which my blemish marks are fading. As you can see I'm back on the eye cream game and going strong! As a contact lense wearer I have incredibly sensitive eyes and the Radical eye cream is one of the few I've used which doesn't aggravate them. I keep it in the fridge so it's always incredibly soothing and cooling upon application - ideal if my eyes are looking a bit puffy.
SUNDAY
MORNING : AESOP Parsley Seed Facial Cleanser, SUQQU Musculate Mask & Massage Cream, AESOP B & Tea Balancing Toner, & OTHER STORIES Cashmere Day Cream.
AFTERNOON : SOAP & GLORY Sunshield Superfluid SPF50+*.
EVENING : THE BODY SHOP Vitamin C Facial Cleansing Polish, SISLEY Radiant Glow Express Mask*, LA ROCHE-POSAY Serozinc, CLARINS Skin Beauty Repair Concentrate, RADICAL Eye Revive Cream, EVE LOM Moisture Mask*.
Sunday evening is for beauty indulgences, all around. Sisley is probably the most luxurious brand in my stash so is more than fitting for the occasion [and this mask is no exception]; I reach for it when my skin is relatively clear as it's aimed at brightening and boosting the complexion rather than cleansing. I'm loving this Clarins treatment, aimed at repairing stressed skin, it's another product I'm reaching for as part of Operation Fade Blemish Marks. It's a very light, delicate oil so is ideal for layering. If you're wary of applying anything too thick and heavy at night [for fear of clogging pores etc.] then Eve Lom's moisture mask is a fantastic option. It has a gel like texture so feels incredibly light and soothing but packs a real punch on the hydration front.
