WEEKEND RITUAL #14 : A Christmas Soirée
This weekend's agenda is all things festivities, food, and FUN.
With less than two weeks to go before Christmas, it seemed only fitting to celebrate with a party of epic festive proportions, for after all, winter is the season to be jolly (fa la la la la)! Last night Danny and I held a Christmas soirée/belated flat-warming/gløgg-guzzling extravaganza for some of our oldest and dearest friends.
The theme was candlelit Alpine chalet, so we decked the flat out in fairy lights, candles, pinecones, and homemade pomanders, went all out with a super-size REAL Christmas trees, stocked the larder with mince pies, and the bathroom with Christmas treats from Lush (Yog Nog soap went down a treat), and even experimented with homemade mulled wine and festive cocktails (gin and apple juice with a dash of whisky and fresh pear). A winter wonderland indeed (minus the snow).
The search for the perfect party dress alluded me this year, so I opted for a failsafe LBD, lots of bling, and a face which was ALL about the eyeshadow (see here for details).
With most of our guests spending the night in makeshift accommodation (read: our lounge), today we're all headed into the city for a much needed hangover-cure brunch. Our venue of choice? Koffee Pot, the Northern Quarter's ultimate breakfast bar. Think, spacious booths, stacks of pancakes, bottomless coffee, and realise, breakfast nirvana...
What festivities are you planning for the season??
