Weekend Ritual #5

Happy Sunday y'all!

This week has been a busy one on the work front. Today is my first full day off so I am RELISHING a lazy morning in bed, lots of tasty food, and the chance to finally catch up on a stack of magazines and a week's worth of blogs (as well as do some blogging of my own).

On Wednesday I caught up with Jen at Fig + Sparrow, and we talked beauty and blogging (amongst many other things) over iced tea and a salted caramel brownie. As you can see, a trip to Space NK was made, and I finally replaced my dying bottle of Nars Sheer Glow.

Wednesday was also date night (hooray!) - Danny and I headed to Dough for some AMAZING pizza, before a late screening of Gone Girl. I loved the book so had high high hopes and was not disappointed in the slightest. Thoughts??

Beauty updates from this week: I've discovered the PERFECT pre-facial exfoliation : Clarisonic + cleansing balm = A+++ baby soft skin and a glow like nothing else. I've also revived my love affair with Dior's nail polishes (which when paired with Seche Vite last five days before chipping) - a busy gal's saving grace.

I'm also super SUPER excited to finally announce that I've joined the amazing team over at A Little Opulent as a beauty writer (cue squeals of excitement on my part)! I've been a huge fan of Rebecca and Jen's amazing magazine since it's creation last April so am THRILLED to be a part of such an exciting publication. You can view my first article (and read about my five favourite lipsticks) here.

+ If you had a chance to pick up Stylist magazine this week then you've no doubt enjoyed Lena Dunham's interview with herself. Funny, witty, and exactly what you'd expect from the creator of Girls. You can read it online here. ++ Sophie tweeted a link to this really interesting article about blogging - fascinating if you've ever wondered about the potential lifespans and impacts of blogs. Blogging is after all a relatively new phenomenon, so where will it be in 20 years time? +++ If you have Netflix and haven't watched House of Cards then there's your lazy Sunday Netflix marathon sorted. Danny and I just finished the second season after a tense few weeks of addiction.

What have you been up to this week/end??
