Weekend Ritual #4

Greetings, from Cambridgeshire! This weekend is a jam-packed affair on the family front and I'm on my travels once again!

Danny and I spent last weekend in York, culture-vulturing around the city's museums and art galleries, consuming copious cappuccinos, and taking in the quaint architecture and sleepy ambience of the city - which is world's away from the Mancunion buzz!

Some favourites : Betty's Tea Rooms (obviously!) The Perky Peacock The House of Trembling Madness Spring Espresso Licc

After a rather quiet week I travelled home on Friday and had a lovely evening indulging in all of the necessary HOME COMFORTS - a roaring log fire, Mama's homemade lasagne, cuddles with Flossie, a POWER SHOWER, and several weeks worth of post.

Yesterday we journeyed down to Cambridge to celebrate my cousin's wedding - a truly LUXE affair involving everything a wedding should : fresh flowers, candles, gallons of prosecco, and drunken Italian relatives as far as the eye could see.

Today's antics will involve a BIG family brunch, punting on the Cam, and an obligatory stroll around the city before I head back north.

Its been a busy few days so I'm already plotting an evening of relaxation to make up for missing tonight's usual beauty indulgences. I have something involving Lush, Sachajuan, and Aesop in mind...

+ Chanel's SS15 show was always going to have the WOW factor (the high-street is still evidence of the drip-down effect following last year's supermarket run), but I seriously don't think that anything will be able to surpass Tuesday's (fashionable) feminist protest. Three cheers for Karl! ++ On a similar note, Into The Gloss interviewed Elizabeth Nyamayaro from UN Women in regards to the HeForShe campaign - a fascinating read. +++ I LOVED Rebecca's post this week on 'Being a Homebody'. Her points completely struck true with my own feelings on the subject (Netflix > nightclubs). ++++ I've spent rather a few too many hours this week obsessing over Sali Hughes' YouTube channel - watching her 'In The Bathroom With...' interview series has left me with an exceedingly long wishlist... I particularly loved the interviews with Caitlin Moran, Gizzi Erskine, and Charlotte Tilbury (warning: you will want ALL the Charlotte Tilbury products after watching this one).

How are you spending YOUR weekend??
