Weekend Ritual #2

Happy 21st September! Today marks the start of the autumnal equinox, so to all those clinging to the summer haze - it's time to let go and embrace all things FALL.

And of course three cheers for the arrival of WEEKEND RITUAL!

(COAT ADDICT ALERT)

Naturally I celebrated the arrival of my favourite season with the purchase of a new coat. I may be a grown woman but autumn is all about those 'back to school' vibes, so a new coat and bag are ALWAYS on the fashion shopping list for September. This year's pick was (of course) Zara. Click here and prepare to swoon.

Last weekend Danny and I headed into town to visit the Ryan Gander exhibition at Manchester Art Gallery. We've been meaning to visit ever since it opened in July but always seem to have been dashing between meetings and trains - as last weekend was the final chance to visit we really had no excuse, and it was so worth the (mini) trek.

Monday and Tuesday involved university registration, enrolment, and orientation, etc. Busy, busy, busy, and oh so exhausting.

Wednesday's plot was a much more relaxing affair - Jen and I caught up at Starbucks before heading to Byron Burger for several hours of non-stop chatter over a rather tasty lunch, and made some VERY exciting plans...

(PSL count this week: 3)

Yesterday involved (lots of) food - Danny and I spent the morning perusing Manchester's Street Food market before whipping up a Mexican feast (which was DELICIOUS), unpacking (yep, still not finished), and House of Cards (we're hooked).

Today will be a similarly humdrum affair - chores, food shopping, and uni prep (once I've prised myself from bed...). But come evening I'll be commandeering the bathroom and turning it into my own mini-spa, complete with candles, Classic FM, and Cowshed. Some things never change...

I've got a busy week ahead, although next weekend's plans are a mystery... Danny is whisking me off to an (as yet) unknown location to celebrate our anniversary!

Your weekly reading list: + I fell in love with this beautiful piece of prose during an afternoon spent in the depths of The New York Times' online archives (warning: tissues essential). ++ Pick up the latest copy of The Gentlewoman and head STRAIGHT to page 140 for a fashion shoot like no other. Benjamin Huseby photographed stunt artist Vanessa Wieduwilt doing her thing whilst wearing the likes of Lanvin, Marni, and Proenza Schouler. Amazing stuff. +++ Natalie's post on the importance of sharing the love in the blogging world completely struck true with my own thoughts on content sharing online. ++++ I LOVE a winter warmer, and this roast chicken dish by Hemsley & Hemsley has fast become a favourite mid-week meal for Danny and I. It's healthy, simple, affordable, and brings a whole new meaning to the word 'flavoursome'. +++++ The fashion pack may have swapped the UK for Italia but the party is only just getting started over on Pinterest!
