Do It All Haircare
I always feel that haircare is an area of beauty where I haven't really found my comfort zone. I have a couple of HG haircare products that I absolutely swear by, but (and especially when it comes to shampoo/conditioner) I'm still on the hunt for The One(s). I was recently invited to try out some products from the Free From Frizz haircare range - a relatively new addition to the haircare aisles at Boots, and competitively priced at £5.99 for a bottle of shampoo/conditioner. The brand has two ranges, one for fine hair, and one for thick hair - which I opted to try. Each range consists of a shampoo, conditioner, and 6 week blow-out kit, and both aim to reduce frizz and nourish hair, leaving it silky and weightless. Sounds good?
Aside from that uber cute milkbottle-esque packaging, the product smells pretty darn good too - a fresh mango scent with all kinds of summer vibes. The Blowout Shampoo* wasn't too runny and lathered up well, and the Blowout Conditioner* immediately detangled my hair and left it feeling nourished but without feeling weighed down or leaving any buildup. Post-blowdry my hair was left looking and feeling infinitely more volumised and also had much more bounce and texture to it than normal. Although I weaned myself off frequent washing a long time ago and usually go 3-4 days between washes, my hair stayed clean for five days post-use and also retained its volume throughout this time - something that I'm not used to even when using a number of "volumising" products.
On the whole frizz free front, less impressive. Whilst I don't have especially frizzy hair, I didn't feel that after using the shampoo and conditioner that my hair was any smoother or sleeker than normal. However, when it came to using the 6 Week Blowout Kit*, Free From Frizz really had its time to shine. The kit contains a pre-cleanser, keratin treatment, and frizz detangler, designed to be used once only for an intensive frizz-reducing session. You really do need to set aside some time to use this set as it involves a number of processes and takes about 2 hours to complete in total - but if you really are deadset on paving your way to sleek, frizz-free hair then it's totally worth it. The set was easy to use (just very time consuming) and left my hair with a sleek smoothness I've only ever previously experienced post-salon. I can't yet attest for this lasting 6 weeks but paired with the volumising/texturising properties of the shampoo and conditioner, my hair is looking and feeling really quite wonderful.
