Skincare Diary #3
I have definitely been lax on the whole skincare diary front, and whilst I've made several pure-hearted attempts to keep note of the products that I've been using, few of my weekly lists made it past the mid-week slump. This past week however, I upped my game and voila!- the proof is in the pudding...
MondayMorning -Eucerin DermoPurifyer Cleanser*, La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+*. Evening - Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser*, Pixi Glow Skin Tonic, Trilogy Rosehip Oil, Eucerin Even Brighter Night Cream*.
I'm nearing the end of my trial of this Eucerin cleanser. I always like to use things for two weeks continuously to get a good feel for them and I've been pleasantly surprised with this cleanser. It's targeted towards oily skin but is incredibly gentle and non-drying with just eight ingredients to its name! Perfect if you have sensitive or verging on oily skin.
Tuesday Morning - Eucerin Purifying Cleanser, La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo +*. Evening - Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser*, Pixi Glow Skin Tonic, Trilogy Rosehip Oil, Eucerin Even Brighter Night Cream*
Exactly the same as yesterday - these products are my minimal staples, the ones I use after a day of no makeup on (relatively) problem free skin. I'm absolutely loving this Eucerin moisturiser - it's a lovely, light cream, ideal if your skin is going through a pretty balanced and (dare I say it) calm phase.
Wednesday Morning - Eucerin Purifying Cleanser, La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo +*, Avene Soothing Hydrating Serum*. Afternoon - Bioderma Sensibo H2O, RMK Cleansing Balm*. Evening - Aesop Purifying Facial Exfoliant Paste*, REN Invisible Pores Detox Mask, Aesop Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Serum*.
As most of you will know, after eight hours with a full face of makeup Bioderma is your best friend. This magical water removes makeup with serious skill. I always like to follow it up with an oil or balm cleanser - my current favourite is this rose-scented RMK offering which feels uber luxurious and removes every last trace of makeup leaving my skin feeling silky smooth and soft.
Thursday Morning - Dead Sea Spa Magik Gentle Cleansing Face Wash, La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo +*. Evening - Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser*, Pixi Glow Skin Tonic, Hydraluron, Origins Drink-Up Intensive Overnight Mask.
Another day of staples. A few times a week I like to spice it up and replace my night cream with a moisture mask (living on the wild side I know). I've raved about this Origins bestseller before and will no doubt continue to do so for the rest of my days. Using this mask is like having an injection of moisture, it always leaves my skin bright and glowy come morning. The ultimate boost, who needs eight hours sleep??
Friday Morning - Dead Sea Spa Magik Gentle Cleansing Face Wash, La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo +*. Afternoon - Bioderma Sensibo H2O, RMK Cleansing Balm*. Evening - Aesop Purifying Facial Exfoliant Paste, Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask, Hydraluron, Trilogy Rosehip Oil, Eucerin Even Brighter Night Cream*.
Although Wednesdays and Sundays are my designated facial days, I do try to squeeze one in on a Friday if I can. Another favourite, this is a super gentle mask, cleansing but moisturising and definitely not drying in any way, shape, or form. Followed up with a moisture-inducing serum and oil, and a basic moisturiser makes for yet another round of intense overnight moisturising.
Saturday Morning - Dead Sea Spa Magik Gentle Cleansing Face Wash, La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo +*. Afternoon - Bioderma Sensibo H2O, RMK Cleansing Balm*. Evening - Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser*, Pixi Glow Skin Tonic, Eucerin Even Brighter Night Cream*.
Having finished up my self-designated two-week trial of the Eucerin cleanser, I've reverted back to my current morning favourite for the time-being. This gentle cream cleanser always manages to keep blemishes at bay whilst maintaining calm, balanced skin. A quick note on Pixi Glow Tonic: this stuff just keeps getting better and better. True, freaking, love.
Sunday Morning - Dead Sea Spa Magik Gentle Cleansing Face Wash, La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo +*. Evening - Aesop Parsley Seed Facial Cleanser*, Aesop Purifying Facial Exfoliant Paste*, Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Mask, Aesop Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Serum*.
Getting my Parsley Seed on on this fine Sunday evening. Ignoring the price tag, Aesop is a brand that can do no wrong in my eyes. My experience with their products has been flawless and I spend most of my Sunday evenings whiling away my time surrounded by their beautiful brown glass bottles and jars.
