Summer Style Wishlist
Coming to your Bloglovin feed today with something a little different (for me at least) in the form of a wish list post - 'ooh' I hear you say... Those who know me well will be surprised to hear that I've never written a wishlist post, as I am something of a wishlist fiend (I even have a Pinterest board called 'Wishlist'). Actually, I'm a woman of many lists - Wunderlist is a godsend, and if anyone got a hold of my iPhone they would know exactly what I want for Christmas/my birthday, what I have planned for my weekly shop, movies I want to watch, books sat gathering dust in my Amazon basket, and of course access to the inevitable lust lists for all things beauty and fashion. I won't go into huge detail, but suffice to say I have separate and lengthy wish lists within these categories with titles such as 'Lipsticks', 'Essie Polishes', 'Zara' (obviously), and 'Diptyque'.
A recent discovery and current obsession of mine comes in the form of online clothing retailer Avenue 32 who asked me to curate a post featuring some items from their site. Described by ELLE magazine as a 'digital rival to Bond Street', Avenue 32 is the go-to place for emerging and established international luxury fashion brands. Okay, not quite my price range, but hey - that's why a wishlist is called a wishlist right? Featuring the latest from designers such as Giles Deacon, Thakoon, J. Brand, and Alice Temperley, presented in a unique editorial style providing shopfront-esque access to the histories, inspirations, and creative processes of each brand, and accompanied by a snazzy (yes I went there) digital magazine, Avenue 32 has become my latest/favourite place to window-shop.
If I had endless jars of dollar here's what'd be winging it's way to my doorstep...
Giles Multi-Strapless Bat Bazar Dress Blair Waldorf wannabes alert! This cotton candy cocktail gown with an uber full skirt and sweetheart neckline positively oozes Queen B. "Not another floral!" I hear you scream...take a closer look - this quirky design is made up of overlapping bat prints! Pair with metallic accessories and a bright pink lip for goth chic meets pastel explosion.
Carven Greeg Suede Bow Strap Ballerinas I am very (read: very, very, very) fussy with shoes, and for a blogger have a surprisingly limited collection - definitely a love 'em or hate 'em kind gal. But as for these? Love at first sight. That bow is just adorable - proof that simplicity is pretty, these shoes are the essence of ballerina chic!
3.1 Phillip Lim Black Fur Ryder Shoulder Bag I am a self-confessed bag lady, forever on the hunt for a new one despite curating a collection verging on excessive. This beauty immediately caught my eye upon perusal of Phillip Lim's storefront (actually it was one of many, but I'm working on that excessiveness). It's that perfect size - room for all of your staples but without being too Mary Poppins.
J.W. Anderson Pink Wool Midi Sunray Kilt Anyone who follows me on Pinterest will know that I have a bit of a thing for pleated midi skirts - can't wait for the UK to get some serious sunshine so that I can crack mine out. My hunt for a pastel pink one has been extensive and fruitless (until now). I've rather a soft spot for Mr Anderson and this beauty ticks all of my boxes bar one (you got it - the price tag), but hey, a girl can dream!
J. Brand Blue Misfit Skinny Jeans I've been lusting after a pair of distressed jeans for a while now, and Sod's Law the pair I've fallen in love with are waaay out of my price range. I'm super fussy with denim but these are a bang on perfect shade, distressed without being too distressed, and super skinny - just how I like 'em.
Thakoon White Broderie Cotton Full Shorts Another wishlist staple this season - I'm a fool for broderie anglaise and these shorts are adorable! Paired with flat sandals, a cashmere knit, beach view and mojito to hand - yes please.
Carven Multi Cotton Floral Sweatshirt Floral? Check. Pastel? Check. Sports luxe? Check. This adorable sweater could not be any more SS'14 even if it tried.
J.W. Anderson Grey Screen Print Logo Sweatshirt Surprise surprise, dear old Mr Anderson has popped up once again. Chic and minimalistic, this sweater is the kind of thing I'd throw on for Sunday brunch or a city mooch, paired with messy hair, copper eyeshadow, a nude lip, and skinny jeans - or that delectable skirt...
Temperley London Pink Jacquard Floral Dress Yet another dress that Blair Waldorf would not look amiss in for a stroll through Central Park with Chuck (can you guess my teen style icon??), this dreamy floral number is truly timeless - a definite investment piece.
Lulu Guiness Black Lipstick Chloe Clutch I love anything with quirky little details, and as a lipstick lover of the highest proportions, this was an instant addition to my wishlist. Simple but fun - Lulu you did it again!
I'd love to know what features on your style wishlist, let me know in the comments below, and do take a peek on Avenue 32 and let me know which pieces you're lusting after! To stay updated on future posts you can follow me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Bloglovin.
