Lipstick Lovers Unite: Part II

SONY DSC Processed with VSCOcam with t1 presetLast Wednesday I asked some lovely bloggers and my lipstick wearing best friends to give me the lowdown on their most-loved lipsticks (read Part I here). In today's concluding post eight more lipstick lovers spill the beans... Brittany (Life, Set Sail) I am head over heels for Bobbi Brown's Sheer Lip Colour in Rosy. It is the perfect pinky orange hue and one that I'm sure would be flattering on a multitude of skin tones. I also really like that this colour seems to plump up my lips, making them look fuller and healthier without appearing overly dramatic in colour. The formula is creamy and moisturizing which, having more of a dry skin type, I find refreshing. I always try to carry a bright lipstick in my purse, just incase I need a little polishing up. With it's beautiful shade and ease of use, Rosy is my colour of choice!

Liz - my wonderful mama! This was a tough call as I'm a Chanel girl at heart, but Jane Iredale's Just Kissed Cheek & Lip Stain in Forever Pink is my current favourite. This lipstick applies completely sheer and with a balm-like texture, but begins to gradually tint into a unique shade to flatter your skin's natural colouring - sounds gimmicky I know, but trust me, it works. I love this lipstick because I can apply it in the midst of my morning rush and top it up throughout my busy day without having to worry about precision application - the working woman's dream! It's really moisturising and has all the benefits of a regular lipstick without the worries of the midday lip liner effect!

Frances At the moment I'm really enjoying my Maxfactor Colour Elixir Giant Pen Stick (legitimately what it's called) in Subtle Coral. I like the toned down shade - I rarely wear bright lipsticks - and it holds a versatility; I can wear it in the evening when I don't feel like going all out, but it still looks smart. It has a good staying power, being a pencil makes it ridiculously easy to apply, and it doesn't dry out my lips as many other lippies are prone to doing. What's more, for just £6.99 it's so affordable.

Kate (Style Coke) Okay, I'll admit it. I'm not very daring with lip colours. Nudes are at the end of the colour spectrum I like to call home. Pop shades for summer, totally, but 90% of the time I'm a bit of a baby and tend to delve for something like this. Burberry's Lip Cover in English Rose (see image below) is somewhat exquisite. It has strong berry hues with a serious punch of muted pink. It's easy, fool proof and utterly timeless. With a creamy formula that leaves a slight sheen over the lip, I like to pair this with a pewter toned shadow and a heavily highlighted cheek bone. I'm a sucker for luxe packaging, oh and just look at that bullet. Doesn't it make your heart flutter? (See image below).

Camey (La Petite Primp) I will always be a red-orange lip girl through and through, but YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in Fuchsia in Rage would have to be my favorite lipstick as it means the most to me. My mom bought this for me last Christmas and we both thought the brilliant purple shade was so unique and amazing. The color is sheer but you can build it up into a bold but wearable statement lip that gracefully fades into bright berry tint; the formula is also super hydrating and comfortable on the lips. Every time I wear this I think of my mom, our mutual love for lipstick, and the confidence she gives me to rock a bold lip.

Dawn My all time favourite lipstick is definitely Maybelline's Colour Sensational Lipstick in Pink Punch. It lasts all day and the lovely bright colour always cheers me up!

Bronagh Though I typically choose lip gloss when it comes to makeup, my all time favourite lipstick has to be Rimmel London's Moisture Renew Lipstick in Precious Ruby. The vibrant red colour has a slight touch of glitter which works well with the bold red shade. The lipstick works perfectly with a dark dress and its long lasting effect makes it perfect for an evening occasion. I love it for its 'out there' tone.

Naomi (Better Ni Than Never) Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lipstick in 33 La Distinguée warrants two blogger clichés and I’m just going to throw them out there, the first being:  it’s “the perfect your lips but better shade” and the second being the old chestnut that is: it’s one of my “holy grail” products. If I had to describe this lipstick with a song title it would have to be Barry White’s ‘My First, My Last, My Everything’.  Joking aside, I’ve got a LOT of love for this lipstick, it truly is my all-time favourite. It’s a moderately dusty pink with a very subtle hint of peach. It's beautiful and despite its matte formula, I don’t find it drying at all. Teamed with Ciate’s Pocket Money Nail Polish, it’s a dream in dusty pink.

Another final thank you to everyone who contributed to Lipstick Lovers Unite, I now have a rather lengthy lipstick wish list...
