April Beauty Favourites
I've had rather a few surprise parcels through my door this month so please do ignore the profusion of asterixes - completely unintentional I can assure you! And given that I've had so many bits and pieces to try out this month you can be certain that those presented below are truly the cream of the crop.
Argan Dew Replenishing Hair Mask and Miraculous Argan Oil* - $44 and $39
I've used a number of hair masks in my time but none have wowed me as much as this one has. It applies as a thick, dense, mousse like texture - bright white but it disappears completely into my hair once applied and washes out beautifully. It left my hair feeling incredibly soft and buoyant, super smooth and thick, and smelling amazing. And what's more, this effect didn't just last the day (as per you average hair mask) but for the three days before I next washed my hair! This mask also earned me some serious hair compliments, pretty impressive bearing in mind that I haven't had my haircut in rather a while and have some very nasty ends (to be rectified in the very near future I can assure you). The oil compliments the mask perfectly but is also lovely to use on its own, it really helps my hair stay tangle free and uncharacteristically crushable...
The Balm Nude'tude Eyeshadow Palette - £26.50
Ever since spotting this dreamy eyeshadow palette in the States last summer its been sat in my Feel Unique basket, glaring at me every time I log in to do some (virtual) window shopping. Eventually when I'd seen enough reviews, tutorials, and swatches regarding this palette as to merit purchase, I clicked 'purchase' (it's perfectly normal to buy yourself a birthday present, right?) and haven't looked back once. It's the perfect combination of neutrals, beautifully pigmented, and with a good ratio of matte to shimmer, if you love your eyeshadow but don't like wearing anything OTT or colourful, this is the palette for you.
Lush Full of Grace Serum* -£8.35
I recently raved about this in a skincare diary post. A product that's been on my 'must buy' list for years, and recommended to me on numerous occasions, I can't believe I put off trying it for so long. It may seem like a lot to pay for a tiny bar, but compared to other serums on the market? Dirt cheap. I apply this post-cleanse and pre-moisturise in the evening, and even after the first night of use woke up with my skin looking so much clearer and brighter. It really helps to reduce redness and leaves my skin feeling plumped and soft.
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss in Effort Glam 05 * - £5.49
Not the pretty coral/peachy pink typical of a spring beauty favourites post, this gorgeous deep pink has been a regular resident in my makeup bag for the past four weeks. It's the kind of colour that I'd never buy for myself so I was so happy and surprised by how much I loved it. I've always had a soft spot for Rimmel lipsticks, and the formula and finish of this collection are to die for.
Pixi Glow Tonic Beauty Elixir - £16.00
This cult beauty blogger's favourite had to make an appearance at some point. Regularly sold out since the Queen of Skincare (Caroline Hirons) featured it on her blog over a year ago, if you have skin issues you need this in your life. No matter what the issue, Pixi Glow Tonic will sort it out (okay maybe not everything, but to skintone, blemishes, scarring etc. a big fat YES). I was a little sceptical about this at first. When I started using it my skin was in a pretty good way anyway, so as I didn't really have any blemishes for it to do battle with I didn't think there'd be much to see. However, my blemish scars have faded at a miraculous rate since this joined my skincare stash, and it really does work wonders when it comes to evening out skin tone and texture. I never thought of my skin tone as being particularly red or uneven until I started using this and saw what a difference it has made.
If you're loving my new blog design (as I am!) I'd really really appreciate it if you could nominate That Grace Girl for 'Best Designed Blog' in the Company Style Bloggers Awards!
