My Essential Escentual Picks
When it comes to replenishing my French skincare stash, there's only one place I go. Escentual is the home of French skinacre in the UK, and what's more offers a really good price reduction! Unless you're planning on hopping the Channel then Escentual is your best bet at getting your hands on some of the cult products of the beauty blogging world. Watch out for their regular 'extra 20% off French pharmacy' sales! I you haven't used Escentual before I've listed a few of my favourites to get you started.
La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo [+]* - £15.50
The new and improved formula of my HG skincare product has lived up to all of my expectations and more. It's every bit as good as the old formula, but with the added benefit of helping to fade spot scarring and reduce redness. I use this twice daily and it works wonders. See a full review here.
Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser* - £6.80
This cleanser could literally not be more gentle. If you have sensitive skin then I'd recommend this above all others. Completely odourless, the product disappears upon application and leaves skin feeling clean and soft without being at all tight or dry. I like to use this in the evening, when I'll already have removed my makeup and double cleansed a few hours earlier. It is really gentle, so don't expect it to leave your skin feeling deeply cleansed/remove all trace of makeup. I massage a small amount into my skin then follow up with a moisturiser or wipe away with a toner.
Bioderma H20 Micellar Water* £4.50 - £14.50
Possibly the most cult skincare product of all time. This micellar water (or miracle water as I like to call it) removes makeup like a dream. It looks and smells exactly like water and leaves absolutely no residue on your skin (unlike a certain L'Oreal dupe). My pet peeve is seeing people describe this as a cleanser. Cleanser it most certainly is not. Although this will get rid of 99% of your makeup you should always double cleanse after using a micellar water. Escentual is just about the only place you can get this in the UK, and at a reduced price too! See my full review here.
La Roche Posay Effaclar A.I - £10.50
This spot-on treatment is the sister product to Effaclar Duo, and is intended to be dotted on to specific spots rather than used all over as a preventative treatment. If you get this on a spot as soon as you start to feel it coming, guaranteed this will have got rid of it before it even shows.
Klorane Nettle Shampoo* - £5.10
My new HG shampoo and definitely the most amazing hair product I've ever used. This keeps my hair clean for so long I usually end up forgetting when I last washed it. It's also super volumising and leaves my hair really soft and silky. See a full review here.
La Roche Posay Hydreane Legere - £11
This lightweight moisturiser disappears completely into the skin upon application, leaving a smooth base perfect for foundation application. I like to use it in place of a primer as its much lighter and gentler on the skin but still provides the perfect base for makeup.
