Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil
Now that my skin has cleared up and calmed down (thanks to a Lush skincare regime and plenty of La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo), I'm eager to get rid of the reminders of my teenage days. In terms of acne scars I've been pretty lucky and don't have anything major besides some faded red marks. Whilst Effaclar Duo has definitely helped with these it is a spot treatment rather than a scar treatment and I've been on the hunt for something a little more specialised. Rosehip Oil cropped up a lot during my searches with this Trilogy one being a well reviewed favourite. I purchased mine from Amazon for around £13, but it is available on escentual.com and in Boots for about £16/£17.
I apply this every evening after cleaning my face and before putting on moisturiser. The applicator is a little pipette which I use to gently squirt a drop onto the tip of my finger before massaging over my problem areas. Two drops is usually enough to get a good coverage. It does feel weird putting oil onto my skin, especially after years of having oily skin and it does leave a bit of a sheen so I wouldn't apply this in the morning.
As far as scar remedies go this is likely to be amongst the best. Rosehip oil is used on hospitals on burn victims, and is recommended for all types of scars and stretch marks. I've been happily using this for a few weeks now and my red marks are definitely fading. I also notice that my skin looks nice and dewy the morning after I've applied this oil. And the fact that it hasn't reacted badly or encouraged breakouts is obviously a shining feature. There are a lot of budget/unbranded Rosehip oils advertised but I recommend going for a branded formula like this one where you can 100% trust the content.
