WEEKEND RITUAL #24 : LONDON'S CALLING

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES Processed with VSCOcam with hb1 presetMy first week off in forever has been spent cosied up in a supersize sixteenth-century farmhouse with some of my favourite people in the world [and I wouldn't have had it any other way]. Our days were spent indulging in long country walks beneath bright blue skies, and exploring castles and stately homes before tumbling into the local pub for hearty roast dinners before flaming fires. I've spent the evenings becoming a dab hand at cards, and powering through novels in a way I haven't since my undergrad days.

Full of fresh air, and feeling just about as zen as is humanely possible [without spending a fortune on a luxe spa retreat] I took the train up to London on Friday to spend the weekend with one of my favourite gals [cue : copious gossiping, eating, and prosecco consumption].

It's been a coffee>laze>brunch>shopping>cocktails>fun affair, and true to form I did lug my camera around with me to capture all of the best bits [see Instagram + the below photo diary]. As per a typical Grace adventure there has been shopping, museum-hopping, and far too many food comas [all 100% worth it].

Friday's antics involved a luxe facial at Fenwicks c/o SUQQU [which most definitely will warrant a post of its own] followed by pizza and bubbles at Fire & Stone [W2]. Yesterday began bright and early with a dreamy breakfast of Eggs Benedict, coffee, and pancakes at The Riding House Cafe [W1], followed by several hours of non-stop retail therapy, a tea break at Yumchaa [W1] and a [gluten free!] sugar high via Cookies and Scream [NW1]. Naturally the evening ended with cocktails [bar hopping down Old Street] before a giddy race for the last tube home.

THAT Brandy Melville hoodie is calling so a trip West is on the cards this afternoon followed by a hearty roast dinner and gin before getting the train back north.

What have you been up to this weekend? Fill me in!

No, just me? Well, if you've time to kill, this is a brilliant interview. + + + + + Over on ALO this week I'm discussing all things oil [of the beauty variety, naturally].
