BEAUTY BITES : JANUARY 2015
This month's beauty review presents a line-up of five products with one thing in common - these products meet the needs of all of my January beauty requirements with a stellar prowess.
Aesop Rosehip Seed Lip Cream*Lip care is paramount - especially when there's a chill in the air and you're bombarding your lips with [more often than not drying] products. This lightweight cream is more lotion than balm, and boasts a delicate, silky consistency which leaves my lips feeling smooth, soft, and nourished. It creates the perfect base for future lipstick application whilst simultaneously giving my winter-chapped lips the TLC they deserve.
& Other Stories Cotton Care Body Lotion You've all heard me natter on about luxe fragrance brand Byredo before, [and have probably all winced at the accompanying price tag], but did you know that founder Ben Gorham is also the brains behind & Other Stories' [uber affordable] beauty line? The Cotton Care range boasts a delicate floral scent with notes of peach and plum, which runs incredibly similar to Byredo favourite La Tulipe. This lightweight lotion is packed with Vitamin E and leaves skin tantalisingly soft as well elegantly scented.
MAC Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer in NW15 Concealer dreams, come true. Light, creamy, and with amazing pigmentation which really performs when it comes to masking blemishes, redness, and dark circles - there's little else to say other than that I'm completely smitten with this MAC favourite.
Butter London Nail Lacquer in The Black Knight I've had this shade on my wishlist since for-ever, so as it finally landed in my stash earlier this month, it's been just about the only thing I've had on my nails throughout January. Pitch black, with a myriad of coloured sparkles [of the non-tacky variety] it is pure cosmic beauty. Unlike similar shades I've used the formula is super pigmented, so after two coats it looks exactly like it does in the bottle - rather than a sheerer version. It's only flaw? Removal is not a fun/easy/quick process.
Jurlique Purely Bright Spot Treatment* I've suffered from some nasty breakouts this month which have left scars and pigmentation across my cheeks, but this dinky tube has been my [skincare] saving grace. Formulated with Jurlique's patented brightening complex, and rich in Vitamin c and anti-oxidants, it works to prevent the process of pigmentation as well as brighten existing marks and scars. After just a few days of use I really noticed a difference.
What are your standout beauty products of the month?
