Weekend Ritual #9

It's that time of the week once again - HAPPY SUNDAY to you and you and you.

Here in Manchester, the chill has well and truly made it's debut, the Christmas lights are on, red cups are back, and everyone seems to be full of that pre-festive season BUZZ.

So far it's been a fun-packed weekend on the family front, with a whirlwind Saturday of culture hot-spotting and shopping with my partner in crime (my mama!), followed up by a big celebratory family dinner at The Wharf last night (rest assured, copious amounts of fizz and food were consumed).

Today is set to a little quieter - starting with a lie-in, freshly baked croissants (co/o Jus-Rol), and ELLE's feminism issue. One of my best gals is in town so after lunch we'll be venturing into the city to catch up over coffee and cake (does anyone else find that coffee and cake ALWAYS tastes better on Sunday afternoons??) My evening will be spent catching up on admin and writing, with the incentive of a looooooong hot bath, COPIOUS amounts of candles, and some serious skincare therapy come nightfall.

This week I've been lusting over Chanel's 2014 Holiday collection/EVERYTHING Charlotte Tilbury/Whistles' cashmere hoodies (can you tell I've been wishlist compiling?) but I'm fully committed to Operation Save in preparation for Christmas - and I love nothing more than gift-buying/planning (guilt-free retail therapy).

It's set to be another busy week ahead - I have a facial booked at Sisley on Wednesday afternoon, brunch planned with Jen for Thursday, and the CHRISTMAS MARKET IS BACK IN MANCHESTER as of Friday (current excitement level : POSITIVELY GIDDY).

+ If you're interested in the history of beauty then this article in ELLE provides a fascinating insight into the life of feminist and beauty entrepreneur Helena Rubinstein. + + I'm DESPERATE to try out this recipe for Cherry S'More Pockets from ALO - an afternoon of baking is already set on next weekend's agenda. + + + This thought-provoking piece from Bryony Gordon presents an intelligent perspective in regards to the recent backlash against Whistle's & The Fawcett Society's feminist t-shirts. + + + + I went on a bit of a pinning spree after discovering Badlands blog's account (you should too).

What's on your agenda this weekend?
