Beauty Cult #1

Processed with VSCOcam with hb1 preset After the success of my recent Lipstick Lovers Unite miniseries (see here and here), which I absolutely loved compiling, I decided that something similar (and more regular) was definitely on the cards for That Grace Girl. Getting to chat with some of my fellow bloggers about their favourite lipstick forged me some strong friendships within the blogging world, and as always it was lovely to sit down and chat with my friends and family about beauty. It got me thinking that the beauty world is something of a cult for us ladies - something we can all get involved with and share our experiences of. No matter what our age, background, income etc we all have those beloved products that have earned a place on our 'forever repurchased' lists. Each month I'll be asking a handful of people (bloggers, friends, colleagues, family members) to recommend a beloved beauty product (or a few) that they've either recently discovered or that has been a long-term addition to their beauty stash, as well as popping in one of my own, for good measure.

Liz - Psychology student, makeup hoarder, and (not so) crazy cat lady If you're looking for a lightweight, up to medium coverage base that doesn't feel like you've slapped on wall paper paste, or make you look like you have more layers than a wedding cake then these two products will be your new bffs. Both products have been talked about endlessly within the blogosphere – but they are worth the hype. Jouer Matte Moisture Tint and Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot are my secret weapon to creating a lightweight base that doesn’t make me feel like I want to claw my face off by lunchtime. A flawless face with just two products? – you can thank me later.

Babette - Blogger at Beautures A proper obsession of mine is the REN Clear Calm 3 Replenishing Gel Cream. I've raved about is so many times on my blog - I mention it at least once a week - so readers of mine will know how much I love this. Basically it's a face cream that can be applied both day and night, and it's especially made to fight congested skin. My skin used to be really congested though very dehydrated, and I found this product helped so much with it, my congestion and spots disappeared after only one or two weeks or so. It also really helps so calm down redness which is another thing I can suffer from. Don't be afraid to try this out when your skin is more on the dry side of things, because although the name suggests it's a gel cream, I would actually say this is more creamy than gel-like, and it's very nourishing whilst not being greasy at all. If you suffer from blackheads and overall congestion, you can't not pick this up!

Elizabeth - Full-time mum, teacher, and nail polish addict Having a beauty blogger for a daughter may have its perks but has also resulted in beauty product addictions of my own, the latest of which (Mavala Mini Colour Nail Polishes) is bordering on excessive... My excuse? Mavala's mini bottles have definite 'collect them all' vibes, and are very visually appealing when lined up on one's dresser (although mine are scattered throughout the house/car/handbag). I love the formula (long-lasting and pigmented) and the colour range - there really is something for everyone. I've never been one to finish off a nail polish so I find the 5ml size just perfect - and £4.75 for a bottle of high-end product, who could resist??

Rebecca - Blogger at From Roses & Co-Editor of A Little Opulent online magazine In the warmer months I’m all about the dewy Victoria Secret Model esque skin and to help me get there I’ve been reaching for a tinted moisturiser like the Rodial Instaglam Skin Tint, although a tinted moisturiser it offers a beautiful level of coverage. I’ve become a complete cream blush convert over the past year and my favourite by far is the Stila Convertible Colour in Lilium, it is the perfect shade of pink for my complexion and has a dreamy formulation. To keep my skin silky smooth I’ve discovered something new with the Garnier Body Repair which really helps tackle any dry patches and keeps my limbs hydrated all day and night.

My own contribution to this month's beauty cult comes in the form of a luxurious, creamy, balm cleanser which (if you're a lazy gal when it comes to skincare) will seriously change the way you feel about washing your face. Seriously if luxury was defined in product form it would be this, the Eve Lom Cleanser* with which I am 100% obsessed. With a thick, buttery texture which melts beautifully into the skin and a gentle warming sensation upon application, this stuff is a spa-worthy facial in a bottle. Gentle but nourishing, and with a formula enriched with essential oils and cocoa butter, it is not just a cleanser, but a cleanser, toner, exfoliator, and moisturiser all rolled into one and sealed with the approval of Vogue (who christened it "the best cleanser in the world"). Cult worthy for sure.

BIG LOVE to my first Beauty Cult contributors! Keep the thread going and let me know in the comments below which beauty products deserve a place in your beauty cult! To stay updated on future posts you can follow me on TwitterInstagramFacebook, and Bloglovin.

If you're voting in the 2014 Bloglovin Awards it would mean the world to me if you'd pop in a vote for TGG under 'Best Writing'.
